A CHRISTMAS STORY
CASTING CALL
AUDITIONS - October 29, 30 at 7 p.m.

ALL AUDITIONS ARE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

COMEDY: by Philip Grecian
Based on the motion picture: A Christmas Story,
written by Jean Shepherd, Leigh Brown and Bob Clark
and on the book In God We Trust by Jean Shepherd.

CAST: 2 men, 2 women, 5 boys and 2 girls.

umorist Jean Shepherd's memoir of growing up in the Midwest during the late1940s follows 9-year-old Ralphie Parker in his quest to get a genuine Red Ryder BB gun under the tree for Christmas. Ralphie pleads his case before his mother, his teacher and even the guy in the red suit, himself, at Goldblatt's Department Store in downtown Homan, IN. The consistent response is "You'll shoot your eye out, kid. "

All the elements from the beloved motion picture are here, including the family's temperamental exploding furnace; Scut Farkas, the school bully; the boys' experiment with a wet tongue on a cold lamppost; the Little Orphan Annie decoder pin; Ralphie's father winning a "major award lamp" shaped like a woman's leg and more.

Auditions are at the Little Theatre Rehearsal Hall - entrance is on the concrete parking lot at the west wing of the building. Copies of the script are at the New Smyrna Beach Publiic Library reference desk.

This production will open on December 8 and play through December 17.
